Academic Standing & GPA

Academic Standing is based on a student’s GPA. Your academic standing is at jeopardy when your UCF GPA drops below 2.00.

Your GPA is calculated by dividing the number of grade points earned in courses that assign letter grades by the number of units attempted.

GPA and Good Standing

Students may have two GPAs at UCF. Your UCF GPA contains coursework taken at the University of Central Florida. This GPA must be at least a 2.00 to graduate and be in good academic standing. Your Cumulative or Overall GPA contains coursework taken at every college and university, including UCF.

Academic Probation

Action is taken when a student’s UCF cumulative GPA drops below 2.0. Academic Probation will continue until the current term and UCF cumulative GPA reaches 2.0 or better. At the beginning of each semester, holds will be placed on accounts for students who are on academic probation. Students must complete a probation form, in addition to meeting with the first available academic advisor to have their hold removed.
